Fabulous desk top printer!
I just love this printer. I am so much more productive with its quick printing compared to the HP Deskjet I had previously.
The colors are very nice when I need color documents.
Quick installation too... was up and running in less than 10 minutes.

excellent home printer
Only used this printer for a month but it has impressed me with its small size, quietness and quality of output. Both black and colour are crisper than previous inkjet.
My only problem so far is drivers.
The OSX 10.7 driver is still not available for Macintosh (promised for 4th quarter 2011) so I am using Ubuntu (v12.04, dual boot) to drive the printer (no Windows for me). The linux driver is 32-bit but it works well enough with 32-bit Ubuntu (but not with 64-bit Ubuntu + 32-bit libs).

Good product
I like this printer. Prints quickly for the most part and the color looks decent. Better than the last printer I owned

A brilliant little printer!
The Xerox Phaser 6010N is a brilliant little printer for a small office or home. The network was pleasantly easy to setup and I am now able to print from a number of different machine’s with ease. The printer is being used to print off general office documents such as invoices as well as drafts of graphic design items such as posters. It handles both remarkably well and is really quick to process and print them, and whilst the printer is operation, it is remarkably quiet too. The colours are vivid and crisp on photos and illustrations, and have improved the draft printouts. I would recommend this printer for anyone with a small office as it easily handles the demands a small office would throw at it!

An ideal machine in a small office or home environment
From the minute, I saw the colourful box that the Xerox Phaser 6010 came in, this printer promised quality. Once unpacked it was easy to set up (apart from the supplied two pin Euro plug - luckily I had a spare UK power cable). The printer looks and feels solid without being too heavy and its footprint is smaller than an A3 sheet of paper. The 150 sheet paper feed tray is located at the front and comes complete with an additional 10 sheet bypass tray to hold "special" papers (e.g. headed paper). At the top of the printer, a hinged flap supports the finished printing. Although network capable, I chose to initially use the USB2 connection straight into one of my PCs. Using the easy to follow "Quick Installation Sheet" and enclosed CD, I had the printer ready to print in less than ten minutes.
I used a desktop publishing program to send a combination of photographs and text at various point sizes to the printer and was surprised at the speed at which the first page was printed (easily on a par with some of the more expensive printers). Comparing the output with the same file printed on a printer costing 5 times as much, I was pleased to note that the colours were crisp and vibrant (and importantly, the correct colour!). The printer will happily handle paperweights up to about 160gsm (I did try to print on some 240gsm but had to "push" the card to get the feed roller to take it - bearing in mind that this printer is not intended for printing on card stock!).
Since the initial testing, I have added the printer to my network (again, very simple to do) and it has been in daily use in my business for a couple of weeks now, printing leaflets, labels, invoices, etc from 3 PCs and in my opinion is doing so admirably. It would therefore be an ideal machine in a small office or home environment and at the price would make a good upgrade to an existing inkjet printer for the price-conscious user.

We are VERY happy with the 6010 and would recommend it without hesitation
Upon receiving the Xerox 6010 Phaser, we were firstly surprised at the ease of setup. Basically we just plugged it in, connected it to the computer and the setup CD did everything for us with a series of icons that we just clicked on. The printer itself is also very compact and doesn't take up a lot of room so will fit in to the smallest of corners and the paper feed is located at the bottom front so you haven't got paper hanging out of the back (Which was a problem on our previous printer).
The Xerox is also remarkably easy to use. With a single LCD screen and a circular navigation button system on the top, everything is grouped together with no complicated Menu or settings to fiddle with, just straightforward and that simple to use, even we could do it!!
The paper feed tray holds an impressive 150 sheets of paper and also has a separate manual feed, which makes life easier. The printer is very quiet whilst working especially compared to our old one, which was really noisy in comparison (Epson R300), and the print speed is very quick. We use this printer mostly to print Certificates for our Karate Club and related paperwork. We have just had a Belt Grading at the club and used this printer for the Student's Certificates etc and it performed flawlessly, saving us a HUGE amount of time in comparison to our old printer due to the Xerox's print speed. The certificates have never looked so good! The black text printed solid and the colours were very bright and clean and looked very professional. The Images we printed were very vivid and sharp and the Xerox printed everything EXACTLY as it appeared on the screen. In our opinion, the print quality of the Xerox would rival any High Street Commercial printing service.
We would deem this printer PERFECT for a Karate Club, or any other club or organisation, which requires Certificates printing or similar.
All in all, the Phaser is quiet, compact, delivers unrivalled quality prints, is simple to use and has a very impressive print speed. We are VERY happy with the 6010 and would recommend it without hesitation to everyone who is considering buying one!!

WOW!
On receiving the Xerox Phaser 6010 straight away, I noticed how compact it was compared to my old one. It was easy to set up and then WOW! I couldn't believe how fast it printed and the quality of the print. I now have a printer that can heighten the quality of our artwork and give it that finished look.

My verdict? It's a quiet and conveniently-sized, well-designed printer, which would be ideal in a small office environment.
My first thought was this was too small to be what it says on the box. The footprint is very small for a colour laser printer; hardly bigger than the OKI B410 which I've been using up to now.
The installation guide tells you all you need to know to get up and running; I was happily printing within minutes.
There are four buttons on the control panel, with an ipod-like navigation ring and a backlit, two-line by 16-character LCD display. These provide a very straightforward and very easy-to-use control system.
Software includes Xerox’s Printing Scout, CentreWare and drivers for Windows, OS X and Linux options. The four toner cartridges plug-in very easily behind a cover within the right side panel. Though I haven't needed to do it yet, changing cartridges looks quick and easy, and the manufacturer claims 2000 pages on a black cartridge. My output is only black and white; I've no requirement for colour, but I do generate a lot of print output at one go, because I'm printing music and programmes for a choir of 30, and audiences up to a couple of hundred. So the printer I'm using has to be up to the job, and has to generate both music of a print quality which can be read easily in badly lit venues, and programmes and flyers which reflect the hopefully high standard of our musical offerings.
The speeds seemed good for a colour printer at this price, and – most importantly for me – the Xerox didn't get over-hot and jam during a long print-run. This touches on the only disadvantage from my point of view, because there is no automatic duplex facility on this printer, and a print-jam when doing manual back-to-back printing would be very bad news.
This printer is extremely quiet, to the extent that I checked a couple of times to make sure it hadn't hibernated. My verdict? It's a quiet and conveniently-sized, well-designed printer, which would be ideal in a small office environment. If - like me - you don't need to print colour, it's an economical one, too. Overall, I'd give it four out of a possible five.
