home printer
I bought this printer 2 years ago for my wife because she's a fashion designer and works at home a lot. We're still very happy with it. It was a lot heavier and spacious than I thought (I didnt have a change to see it, had to order online), but after transport and placement its worth it compared to lightweight stuff. This printer is very fast and the build and print quality are both very good, same as the big color laser printers at work.

Wonderful printer
I work remotely and have this as my home printer. I'm a graphic designer and often need to print mockups. The double-sided feature works well, the colors are great. Aside from the cost of replacing the toner (after one year, we've replaced the black once already and now need to do all four colors), it's worked great with no issues.

Cost Factor/Service problem
I purchased the Phaser after my reliable OKI printer got old. This Printer is fast and efficient. Cost of printing is substantially higher than the OKI equivalent. When the toner gets low in one cartridge, the colour of the prints change and some of the graphics have a poorer quality. Also have a problem with Card Stock. Every time I print Cards, the printer shows a "jam" after every few sheets. Your service man claims,"wrong Paper". No solution to that. I buy the paper from Staples, regular Card-stock that gave me no problems with the OKI. I would still recommend this product for the efficiency, with a different service department ,who have solutions.
You call that "one year in house service" ? that is certainly easy. Just make sure the customer does not call anymore.

Xerox Phaser 6280 User for four years
I have had this printer for four years (in addition to an Epson printer that I use for photographs). I find the print quality excellent, and for the most part it is easy to use. I really like the double-sided printing feature. Sometimes addresses on envelopes don't print well, but it's a minor thing. All in all a solid reliable printer. Would be nice if the ink was a little cheaper, but the same can be said for any printer.

Exceptionally Good Printer
As an administrative officer with mobility issues, I needed a dependable, high-quality colour printer that would fit neatly into my small workstation, function quietly and quickly, and generally perform reliably. After doing extensive research, I selected the Xerox Phaser 6280, and can enthusiastically report that it delivers on all of these criteria, plus more.
This little printer tucks under my desk with a surprisingly small footprint. Setting it up was pretty easy, even for me. The directions are very clear and straightforward, and everything worked exactly as illustrated.
But what I'm really impressed with is its printed image. Before this job, I spent 26 years in commercial printing, so I know quality imaging when I see it - and this printer gives you clean and crisp, very accurate colour reproduction that doesn't falter even after printing off a high volume of copies of the same image. Screen tints are faithfully reproduced, and both headline and body text is solid and sharp.
The LED display is bright and easy to read, and the controls are simple and intuitive. Something else that impressed me is that if you realize you need to edit more on a document that you've already sent to the printer, one press of the 'cancel' button halts the printing process within one sheet ... not like other printers that take several more sheets for the cancel command to take effect.
Overall, this printer is an exceptional buy ... a colour laser printer with a duplexing feature, affordable for any business - home based or corporate ... a quiet, dependable, high-quality performer. You'll very soon be wondering how you ever got along without it.

GREAT Printer!
For the price this is an outstanding color printer. For those that may be wondering how Xerox can offer such a reliable printer, with great print quality, at such a low price, Xerox has chosen the route that the extremely expensive (consumables) inkjet printer mfrs have taken (and continue to!) for so many years.
Rather than charging outrageously high prices for a laser printer AND the consumables as well, Xerox compensates for any loss of profits on equipment by consumable sales. Regardless, considering the ease of use, speed, reliability and quality prints from such an inexpensive laser printer, the Xerox 6280 (or any Xerox Phaser color printer for that matter) cost-to-benefit ratio still FAR outweighs that of any inkjet printer while being very competitive with other color laser printer manufacturers (having owned both Lexmark - several, and Hewlett-Packard - several, we are glad that we were able to find a much more reliable and cost-effective alternative with Xerox).

Great replacement for our old Xerox 6250
Our legal reports are 35-45 pages in length. This workhorse zooms out a full report in under 3 minutes with no jams or crinkles. Once the jet-engine sound warm-up is over, it prints quietly and efficiently. Puts out much less heat than our older Phaser.
