First (and Last) Xerox product my company has owne

My company owns about 10 or so printers at any one time - we have probably owned over 40 in the past 30 years. This is the most frustrating piece of equipment I can remember ever trying to use. I purchased it for my home office and have probably wasted enough time trying to get it to work properly to have paid for 3 different printers. The user interface is horrible and it takes forever to process a print job - the printing is fast, but the waiting for it to start time makes the overall time ridiculously long. Once the totally inadequate memory fills up, you wait and wait for the print to start, and it just cancels your job - no notice, no indication that it won't print, it just goes back to ready. The process to sanitize the memory simply doesn't work; the Settings commands go around in a continuous circle and then you have to completely set up the printer again. It is easier and faster to travel the 15 minutes to my office to print anything than to deal with this piece of junk. I've wrestled with it for a year (including probably $400 in cost to our IT consultant), but I'm replacing it with something else that will actually complete a print job bigger than one black and white page.

Much Better than Ink Jet

I use my printer so seldom that the ink dryed out and I had to purchase new ink nearly every time I used my Ink Jet printer. My new Xerox toner is ready every time. I khave discovered that it is better to use high capacity toner cartridges.

A workhorse!

This has been my go-to printer for about 3 years. I've had exactly one paper jam in that entire time. I've used it for color dense printing and for just black in and it does an excellent job. The cartridges are easy to change, and I like the Xerox "return and recycle" program. My only complaint is that it doesn't feed exactly right for labels, so I have to adjust the top margin, but that's a small mater in the overall scheme of things.

AVOID THIS MACHINE

I'm not sure where to start. I worked perfectly for almost two years and then it started having major connectivity issues once Xerox creating that Print Experience App. Between the IP address displaying but not being able to ping the printer's admin page, to having to turn everything I want to print into a PDF, to the printer disconnecting from my IP addy and having to uninstall and reinstall the printer, from this new Xerox Easy Assist app not working, to all of the solutions I look up being for clearly another computer model to having to troubleshoot for hours with no solution, this is EASILY the worst tech purchase I've made, full stop. The user assistance around this is also trash, one of the worse UI's out there. Those of you in the first year or two, enjoy it. You'll find out, hopefully not the hard way, that once it starts the decline, there are NO real solutions and that you'll be buying another printer sooner rather than later.

excellent, fast warmup

i observe time to print rapid. only negative was setup for windows7 failed from included cd. i had to go to website twice because not well documented either in box or on website. i have no clue why it is not compatible with legacy windows which have used xerox color laserjets for nearly 20 yrs. other than these inconveniences, after solved, as always, the printer is superb, nice 2 sided printing, too.

choke hold you into purchasing more ink

Occasionally you will run out of ink without having a back up so maybe you switch out with another printer until you can purchase more. This printer is programmed to not allow switching of ink cartridges in order to ensure they are making more money and there is no way to override it without subscribing to an additional warranty plan. Spent 1 hour on the phone with a customer service representative to find this out. I would rather it print a faded print out than completely stop printing. Had Canon printers for years and they were amazing. Highly recommend the canon printer/scanners over these.

Worst Printer I ever owned

I was advised by the vendor that Xerox sold the toner cartridges for this printer at a very reasonable price to avoid people using look alike cartridges. Well a full set of toner cartridges costs DOUBLE the price of the printer, and they have put chips on the cartridges to stop anyone else supplying cartridges. Now the REAL KILLER I go to print a full colour photo and get error memory full message. Go online and nope this printer can't actually print photos!!! It's too late to return this piece of garbage and buy something descent, I am more angry than I have been in years

Be Aware

I ordered one and after printing maybe 30 sheets the black ink was gone. I ordered a new on and it lasted for maybe 20 sheets before it started saying it was low. I ordered another one and it never stopped saying ink was low and would not print. I reached out to Zerox and they sent a new printer and i sending back the other one. I hooked up the new printer , it printed the test page and the spec page and said black ink was low!! BRAND NEW and 3 sheets printed. Do Not Buy this printer!
