Eco-label and Product Registry Programs
Xerox Environmental Products List (PDF, 89 KB)
Many Xerox products meet or exceed the requirements of the world's most widely-recognized certifications for product environmental performance — the international ENERGY STAR, UL's EcoLogo eco labels, and Germany's Blue Angel. Xerox's eco label products provide environmental — benefits without compromising performance, quality or reliability. And the energy- and paper-saving features of these machines bring value, efficiency and flexibility to your work environment.
EPEAT® environmental rating registry for electronic products
EPEAT® is a comprehensive environmental rating system that identifies electronic equipment meeting specific environmental criteria, combining comprehensive criteria for design, production, energy use and recycling with ongoing independent verification of manufacturer claims. The EPEAT system was designed with purchaser input to provide an environmental assessment tool for purchasers. For program information and currently registered products, visit www.epeat.net.
The EPEAT® registry for electronic products was expanded in early 2013 to include imaging equipment. Xerox was among the first to have EPEAT — registered products on the day of program launch and continues to add new products to the registry.
The International ENERGY STAR Program
The ENERGY STAR program was initiated in 1993 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, with Xerox as a Charter Partner, as a way to certify products with specific energy saving attributes. The program's requirements become more challenging every few years. For more information visit www.energystar.gov.
ENERGY STAR Version 2.0 became effective January 1, 2014: The International ENERGY STAR program again tightened the ENERGY STAR requirements to increase the benefits to the customer and to the environment. ENERGY STAR Version 2.0 products are measured against Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) requirements. Duplex options, signage and documentation are also required.
UL's EcoLogo Program
The Ecologo program helps consumers identify environmentally-preferable products and services. EcoLogo-certified office equipment must meet requirements for materials conservation, energy efficiency and low emissions. Xerox has been a leader in offering EcoLogo-certified products since 1996.
Blue Angel Certification
Based in Germany, Blue Angel was the first environmental-related label for products and services in the world. Since 1978 it has helped promote ecological awareness and guide consumers to the most ecologically sound products. In order to achieve Blue Angel, devices must meet stringent requirements for air emissions, materials selection, recyclable design, and energy consumption.
